Snow Removal Across Orillia and Nearby Townships

Where Our Routes Run

Orillia Snow Removal runs crews in fixed parts of the city and out into Severn, Ramara and Oro-Medonte. Each crew keeps the same streets all winter, which is how we can promise a return pass after the city plow.

North Ward and Wilson Point

Streets near Lake Couchiching with narrow driveways, where a walk-behind blower fits better than a plow, and lakeside roofs that catch drifting snow. See roof snow removal.

West Ward and West Ridge

Newer streets out toward Highway 11 and West Ridge Boulevard, with double driveways and wide windrows from the collector roads. See windrow clearing.

South Ward and Downtown Orillia

The downtown core, where Business Improvement Area merchants clear their own sidewalks, and the streets south toward Lake Simcoe. Overnight street parking is banned November 15 to April 15, so the driveway is the only place for the car. Storefronts are covered under commercial snow plowing.

Severn: Coldwater, Washago and Marchmont

Rural lanes and cottages north and west of the city. Severn bans overnight road parking December 1 to March 31, and long driveways here need a tractor. See driveway snow removal.

Ramara: Atherley, Brechin and Lagoon City

Lakeside homes and cottages east of the Narrows, roof checks for owners who are away, and canal-side lots in Lagoon City with little room to pile snow. See roof snow removal for cottages.

Oro-Medonte: Bass Lake and Warminster

Long rural driveways west of Orillia, where wind drifts snow back across a lane an hour after we clear it. A seasonal contract with no visit cap fits these lanes.
