Snow Removal in Orillia, Ontario for Driveways and Walkways

Orillia Snow Removal clears driveways, front walks and the snowbank the city plow leaves at the end of your driveway, for homes and businesses across Orillia, Severn, Ramara and Oro-Medonte.

We start at 5 cm, come back after the plow, and take the snow off your roof when the load gets heavy.

Snow Removal Services for Orillia Homes and Businesses

Orillia averages close to 300 cm of snow a winter, and the last two winters went far past that: about 460 cm in (343) 947-5029 and 492 cm by March 21, 2026, most of it from lake-effect squalls off Georgian Bay. The City plows your street and the public sidewalk. The driveway, the front walk, the snowbank at the curb and the roof are yours.

The Two Things Orillia Homeowners Ask About

The first is the snowbank at the end of the driveway. The City's snow-clearing page says in one line that the City does not clear windrows. In 2024 staff priced a city windrow program at $2.4 million in equipment plus $500,000 a year, and council did not adopt it. Every contract we write includes a return pass after the city plow, and we sell one-time dig-outs to people who shovel the rest themselves.

The second is timing. The City plows local residential streets once more than 8 cm has fallen and aims to finish within 16 hours after the snow stops. We start our routes at 5 cm, so on most storms we clear your driveway before the plow reaches your street, then return for the bank it leaves.

We give you your route window, text you when the driveway is done, and work through the night when the City has declared a Significant Weather Event and its own crews are out too.

Six Snow Services in Orillia

Each service has its own page covering what the work involves, the City rules that apply, and what goes into a quote.

Driveways and front walks cleared after every 5 cm, on a route that stays in your part of Orillia all winter.

One contract from November 15 to April 15, the same dates as the City's overnight parking ban, with no cap on visits.

The City does not clear the snowbank its plow leaves across your driveway. We come back for it, on contract or as a one-time dig-out.

Roofs, decks and outbuildings cleared before the load does damage, for houses in town and cottages on the lake.

Salt or sand on walks, steps and driveways after freezing rain, measured for the area, with Lake Simcoe in mind.

Lots, entrances and sidewalks for plazas, churches, offices and rental buildings, with a time-stamped log of every visit.

What a 40 cm Squall Day Looks Like in Orillia

On February 7, 2025, a squall band dropped more than 40 cm on Orillia in about seven hours, the City declared a Significant Weather Event, and Highway 11 closed after a string of collisions. Squalls come in bands, so West Ridge can be buried while the North Ward sees flurries, and then the band shifts.

On those days we clear each driveway on the route once it reaches 5 cm, keep circling until the band moves off, and come back for the snowbank after the City's plow has done your street. You get an open driveway several times through the day instead of one perfect clearing at 7 am.

What Goes Into a Written Quote

We quote after we have seen the property, because a postal code tells us nothing about what sets the price: driveway length and width, asphalt, interlock or gravel, the number of steps to the door, where snow can be piled, and whether a corner lot gets a second snowbank.

The quote lists the driveway, the walk, the windrow return, roof clearing and salting as separate lines, and states the trigger depth, the contract dates, the payment schedule and the cancel terms.

The total on the quote is the total on the invoice unless you add a line.
